Today, in the city of Samarkand, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who is in the country on a working visit.
According to the press service of the head of state, at the beginning of the meeting, the high-ranking guest conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Uzbek leader.
During the conversation, urgent matters concerning the further strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations of friendship, comprehensive strategic partnership, and alliance were discussed, particularly in light of the agreements reached at the highest level.
It was noted with satisfaction that there is active dialogue and productive exchanges in all areas. The volume of trade and investments is growing. Cooperation between regions and leading industrial enterprises is being enhanced. Collaboration is expanding in the fields of culture, art, science, education, healthcare, sports, and tourism.
The parties also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
