President signs law expanding scope of use of Uzbek flag

The scope of use of the national flag of Uzbekistan is widened to include the use of the flag and signs bearing its image in public places, buildings, places of residence or work, and in the interior of vehicles. In addition, the law clearly defines cases of disrespect for the flag.
The President signed the Law "On amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan", the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Justice reported on July 8.
The Law expands the scope of the use of the National Flag, including the following cases:
use of the flag and signs with its image in public places, buildings, places of residence or work, as well as in the interior of vehicles;
the use of the flag at sports competitions, mass, solemn and cultural events, family holidays, memorable dates, funerals of public and state figures, military personnel;
the use of signs with the image of the flag for the preparation of sportswear for international sports competitions and championships of Uzbekistan.
In addition, the law clearly defines cases of disrespect for the flag, including the following:
the use of torn, stained, punctured, faded and other damaged flags and signs with its image;
using the flag as a cover for something;
placing or depicting the flag on tables, seats, chairs, as well as using it as a cover or placing it under your feet;
use of the flag as clothing, tablecloth or bed linen, as well as for storage and transportation of things;
putting signs with the image of the flag on shoes, tablecloths, bed linen, underwear, towels, boxes (packaging) or using other ways of applying its image;
the use of a flag and signs with its image contrary to the rules of etiquette and social behavior.
Individuals and legal entities, as well as state bodies using the flag, are responsible for its use in accordance with the established requirements.
The law came into force on July 8.
