The President visited the Neftchi Children's Football Academy

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the facilities created at the Fergana Region Football Association Center and the Neftchi Children's Football Academy.
The Fergana Region is widely known for its rich football traditions and talented players.
In particular, Neftchi Football Club, founded in 1962, is a six-time champion of the Uzbekistan Premier League, a two-time winner of the Uzbekistan Cup, and a winner of the Super Cup. In addition, in 1994, the club reached the final of the CIS Cup, and in 1994-1995, it won bronze in the Asian Champions League.
Systematic work to select and train talented young footballers and build a pool of qualified coaches continues in the region today.
In particular, as a result of measures aimed at developing academies at professional football clubs, the Neftchi Children's Football Academy was founded in 2025.
The academy, covering an area of over 4.5 hectares, is designed to train over 150 young athletes. It features six large and small football pitches, as well as a physiotherapy department equipped with modern medical and rehabilitation equipment.
With $1.1 million in funding, the academy built an indoor football arena with an artificial turf and an air dome.
To develop football to world-class standards and identify talented young people, a UEFA instructor and other international specialists were invited to the academy.
