The ruling coalition has fallen in Germany
Political
In Germany, the ruling “traffic light coalition”, consisting of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and the Alliance 90/Green party, has collapsed.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will vote for a vote of confidence in his government in the Bundestag on January 15 in order to be able to hold early elections in March.
In the weeks remaining before Christmas, Scholz intends to vote in the Bundestag for all bills requiring rapid adoption, in particular, for emergency support for the industry, as well as for measures to stabilize pensions.
The coalition partners have long been divided by deep disagreements on economic, financial and social policy issues, so they could not agree on the German budget for 2025.
