The "Sijjak" Recreation Center, Previously Owned by Gulnara Karimova, Transferred to the Trade Unions Federation

The "Sijjak" recreation center, located in Bo‘stonliq district of Tashkent region, has now been transferred to the Uzbekistan Trade Unions Federation. This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers on December 27, 2024. Previously, the center belonged to Gulnara Karimova, the daughter of Uzbekistan’s first president, Islam Karimov. Despite multiple attempts to sell the facility, no buyer was found.

The "Sijjak" recreation center is situated in the "Sarbog‘" neighborhood of the Sijjak area in Bo‘stonliq district. The total area of the facility is 5.38 hectares, and it is valued at 70 billion UZS.

Initially owned by Gulnara Karimova, the center was confiscated on February 10, 2017, by the decision of the Tashkent Regional Criminal Court. Subsequently, the center was temporarily transferred to the Uzbekistan Triathlon Federation.

Later, the facility was put up for auction several times. However, attempts to sell "Sijjak" in 2021-2022 were unsuccessful due to the lack of buyers.

According to a presidential decree issued on June 14, 2023, the "Sijjak" recreation center was removed from the list of privatization-eligible properties and transferred to the balance of School-Internat No. 124 in Tashkent region.

Subsequently, by the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision on December 27, 2024, the "Sijjak" recreation center was transferred to the Uzbekistan Trade Unions Federation. The facility will now be used by the federation as a recreational area and for children’s health camps.
