The US and UK have imposed sanctions against four leaders of the Houthi movement in Yemen, according to a statement published on the official website of the US Treasury Department.

The statement said the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed sanctions against key officials for their involvement in terrorist acts targeting commercial maritime shipping.

Mohamed al-Atifi, Mohammad Fadl Abd al-Nabi, Mohammad Ali al-Qadiri and Mohammad Ahmad al-Talibi were added to the list.
