To the participants of the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit

Uzbekistan

Dear Summit participants! Ladies and gentlemen! I am sincerely pleased to extend my heartfelt greetings and warmest wishes to all participants of the Eurasian Economic Summit. Over the past decades, the Summit has established itself as a sought-after platform for dialogue, bringing together leading politicians, representatives of the business community, and the expert community.

To the participants of the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit
Holding the Summit in Istanbul has special symbolic significance. For centuries, this unique city has served as a bridge between Europe and Asia, facilitating the development of cultural, trade, and economic exchange between the regions.

Today, modern Turkey is consistently implementing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's strategic vision – the "Turkish Century."

Turkey's prestige as a reliable and influential player in international relations, capable of mobilizing efforts to effectively address pressing global issues, is growing.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of President Erdogan, relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey have today reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The priorities of Uzbek-Turkish relations are fully aligned with the key goals of the Eurasian Economic Summit – expanding a comprehensive multilateral partnership and sustainable development based on equality, trust, and mutual respect.

Dear participants!

One of the key themes of this Summit – global responsibility in the face of water and green resource scarcity – is particularly relevant today. The world is facing growing climate challenges, including desertification, land degradation, water scarcity, and environmental degradation.

In Central Asia, these processes are particularly acute: warming rates exceed the global average, glaciers are shrinking, and land degradation is intensifying.

Under these circumstances, ensuring environmental sustainability has become a key development priority for the New Uzbekistan.

As part of the Green Space project, 200 million trees are planted annually, and large-scale protective afforestation has already been established on the dry bed of the Aral Sea.

We are consistently transitioning to a "green" development model, having already reduced emissions by 35 percent and aiming to reduce them by 50 percent by 2035.

At the same time, measures are being implemented to effectively manage water resources, including the introduction of water-saving technologies, which allows for significant annual water savings.

Uzbekistan intends to continue actively promoting the "green" agenda and contributing to the search for effective solutions to global environmental challenges.

In this regard, I invite you to participate in upcoming international events in our country, including the Global Environment Facility Assembly in Samarkand and the World Water Forum.

I am confident that our joint efforts will make a practical contribution to the international climate cooperation agenda, including preparations for the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference.

Dear participants!

Uzbekistan is open to broad partnerships and is ready to further promote sustainable development.

Only by joining forces can we ensure a prosperous future for current and future generations.

I wish all Summit participants fruitful work and practical results.

Thank you for your attention.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev,

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
