President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, alongside legendary Spanish forward David Villa, visited the unique Atletico Madrid Academy in the Almaty region. On ultra-modern pitches, Spanish strategists are refining future stars from hundreds of children who cleared a rigorous nationwide selection process. A massive infrastructure expansion lies ahead for the project.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Atletico de Madrid Kazakhstan Academy in the Almaty region, home to 116 children selected by Spanish scouts from a pool of over 4,000 applicants. The Head of State reviewed an expansion blueprint, which schedules the construction of two additional pitches, a 500-seat indoor arena, and a new administrative block. The President observed drills on a FIFA-standard pitch, met with football icon David Villa, and signed a football.
