Trade Grows by 150% as Uzbekistan and France Strengthen Business Ties

Economic partnership between Uzbekistan and France is gaining momentum amid growing trade and the implementation of major investment projects. On July 9, an Uzbekistan–France roundtable brought together government representatives and executives from 17 leading French companies.
The talks were attended by Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sherzod Ozodzoda, Presidential Adviser Behzod Normatov and Claude Imauven, Chairman of the France–Uzbekistan Business Council at MEDEF International.
Trade between the two countries reached $1.4 billion in 2025. In January–May 2026, bilateral trade amounted to $775 million, marking a 150% increase.
The parties discussed expanding investment and technological cooperation. Key projects include $2 billion in energy initiatives with EDF, Orano’s $600 million industrial project in the Navoi region and Voltalia’s $325 million solar and wind energy projects.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to expanding practical cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and France.
