U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a joint peace plan to address the situation in the Gaza Strip. Speaking at a joint press conference at the White House, Trump said the agreement was “closer than ever” and called the day “historic for peace.”
The American leader praised Netanyahu as a “warrior,” thanked him for agreeing to the plan, and pledged full U.S. support.
The 21-point document released by the White House outlines key measures, including turning Gaza into a “zone free of terror and radicalism,” full demilitarization, the destruction of Hamas tunnels and infrastructure, and the training of local police forces. The plan also envisions the gradual withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces from the territory.
Trump stressed that not only European allies, but also several Arab and Muslim states took part in shaping the agreement, committing to support Gaza’s demilitarization.
