Trump Announces New Appointments for Pentagon and CIA in Potential Administration
World
Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump has announced key appointments for the Pentagon and the CIA if he wins the election.
Trump stated that he would appoint Fox News commentator Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense, describing Hegseth as a staunch patriot who would help revitalize the U.S. military. He emphasized Hegseth's military experience and commitment to combatting “leftist influence” within the military, aligning with Trump’s “Peace Through Strength” doctrine.
For CIA Director, Trump has chosen former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, underscoring his commitment to national security. Additionally, he has proposed South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as the Secretary of Homeland Security.
Trump also nominated former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as U.S. Ambassador to Israel, noting Huckabee’s deep ties with Israel and his strong support for the nation.
Furthermore, Trump announced that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy would lead a new external advisory group called the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), a name inspired by Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency, dogecoin. The group aims to provide the White House with efficiency recommendations and entrepreneurial insights for restructuring government administration and reducing federal expenditures.
