Trump called Musk's new party "ridiculous" and acknowledged NASA's appointment as a mistake

US President Donald Trump criticized Elon Musk's idea of creating his own political party, "America Party," calling it "ridiculous" and "destructive to the system." He also considered his decision to appoint a businessman close to Musk to the position of NASA head inappropriate.
At a briefing before departing from the Morristown (New Jersey) airbase, Trump spoke sharply:
"Creating a third party is ridiculous. America is a country with a bipartisan system. Such steps only bring chaos. Third parties in US history have never worked," he said.
On the same day, Trump published a post in Truth Social stating that "Ilon Musk has derailed and turned into a train wreck in the last five weeks."
On the eve, Musk announced the creation of the "America Party" - in response to Trump's tax and budget bill, which, according to him, will lead the country to bankruptcy. He also promised to support the candidates who could displace the current Republicans who voted for this law.
"Why did @DOGE do all this, if he's just increasing the government debt by $5 trillion?" Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Elon Musk, previously one of Trump's campaign's largest sponsors, has turned a sharp back on the ex-president after signing this law, which is rumored to strip Tesla of tax benefits. Trump, in turn, hinted at the potential cessation of multi-billion-dollar state support for Tesla and SpaceX.
Trump also commented on his refusal to run for Jared Isaacman, a billionaire close to Musk, whom he had previously nominated for NASA head. The appointment was withdrawn at the end of May without explanation, however, Trump now stated:
"I considered it inappropriate for Musk's friend working in the space industry to lead NASA, as this creates a direct conflict of interest. My main task is to protect the Americans."
