Trump Does Not Rule Out Ground Operation in Iran

US President Donald Trump has stated that he is prepared to consider deploying American troops to Iran, emphasizing that he does not intend to rule out any scenario in the development of the military operation.
In an interview with The New York Post, Trump said he does not fear the possibility of sending ground forces, unlike some of his predecessors who publicly ruled out troop deployments in similar situations.
“I have no fear about sending troops. Other presidents say in such cases: ‘Our troops will not be there.’ I don’t say that. I say that ground troops will probably not be necessary,” the president stated.
Later, in an address to the nation, Trump clarified that the military operation against Iran had initially been planned for four to five weeks. However, he stressed that the United States is prepared to continue the operation much longer if circumstances require.
Trump described the campaign as the “last and best chance” to eliminate threats posed by the Iranian regime. Among Washington’s primary objectives, he listed the destruction of Iran’s missile capabilities and naval forces.
According to Trump, ten Iranian vessels were destroyed during the operation and are now “lying at the bottom of the sea.”
