Trump urges Israel to halt Gaza strikes for hostage release

U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Israel to immediately stop airstrikes on Gaza, saying this is necessary to ensure the safe release of hostages.
His statement followed Hamas’s response to his plan to end the war. The group pledged to return all Israeli hostages, both alive and the bodies of the deceased, under Trump’s initiative.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that Hamas’s position “makes me believe [the group] is ready for a long-lasting PEACE.”
“Israel must immediately stop bombing Gaza so we can get the hostages back quickly and safely! Right now it is too dangerous. We are already consulting on what details need to be agreed upon,” Trump said.
