According to the agency, a military transport plane carrying the humanitarian aid, prepared by Türkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), landed at Mazar-i-Sharif airport.

The shipment includes 2,000 blankets, 14,300 kg of food, and 7 tons of medicine.

The aid is planned to be distributed among the residents of Baghlan, Takhar, and Badakhshan provinces, which were the hardest hit by the floods.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, heavy rains and subsequent flooding that began on May 10-11 affected 21 districts in these provinces.

Earlier, the World Food Programme reported that over 300 people had died as a result of the floods in Afghanistan.

It should be noted that on April 25, a delegation from Uzbekistan traveled to Afghanistan to deliver humanitarian aid. The aid included 48 tons of flour, 48 tons of wheat, 15,000 liters of vegetable oil, 10,000 cans of stew, 24 tons of sugar, 22 tons of pasta, and 100,000 servings of instant noodles.
