Türkiye's foreign ministry lists topics for talks between Erdogan and Putin

According to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to discuss a number of important issues during his upcoming visit to Türkiye, including the energy sector, the Akkuyu nuclear power plant construction project, a grain deal, as well as the situation in Syria and the Gaza Strip.
Mr Fidan said in an interview with A-Haber that special attention is paid to the energy issue, as there is a significant amount of energy trade between Türkiye and Russia. In addition, Russia is currently actively building the Akkuyu NPP, which is one of the largest projects of its kind.
During the meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, it is also planned to discuss current regional developments, including the situation in the Gaza Strip. Hakan Fidan emphasised that Russia has a closer position to Türkiye on this issue.
The Turkish Foreign Minister added that the grain deal is always at the centre of their attention and that the Turkish President attaches great importance to this issue and that they are now in the process of negotiations with Russia to implement it.
According to a Reuters Turkish source, Vladimir Putin intends to visit Türkiye on 12 February.
