UN session on Gaza to resume on 12 December

On 12 December, the UN General Assembly Extraordinary Special Session on the situation in the Gaza Strip will continue its work. This was announced by the official representative of the President of the UN General Assembly Monica Grayley.
"President of the UN General Assembly, Dennis Francis, has just informed Member States that he will convene the 45th plenary meeting of the tenth Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly on Tuesday, 12 December 2023," Grayley said.
He noted that the resumption of the special session was requested on 8 December in a letter sent by Egypt's Permanent Representative to the UN Osama Mahmoud Abdelhalek Mahmoud, as well as Mauritania's Permanent Representative Sidi Mohamed Laghdaf. The permanent representatives are the representatives of the Arab Group and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation at the UN respectively.
