Uranium supplies from Uzbekistan to the United States in 2022 increased by 78 percent compared to the previous year. By the end of last year, thanks to an increase in supplies, Uzbekistan's share in the US uranium market reached 11 percent, which almost corresponds to Russia's share.

At the same time, American operators of nuclear power plants last year reduced the purchase of uranium raw materials from Russia by 24 percent. At the same time, Russia's share in the US uranium market decreased slightly (from 13 percent in 2021 to 11.7 percent last year), since American consumers as a whole reduced purchases of raw materials last year by 13 percent year-on-year, according to statistics.

There are 93 nuclear power units operating in the United States, which produced 18.2 percent of the country's electricity last year. 95 percent of uranium raw materials for nuclear power plants in the United States are purchased abroad — mainly from Canada (27 percent in 2022), as well as from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia.

It is worth noting that the profit of SE "Navoiyuran" in 2022 amounted to more than 2 trillion soums, follows from the annual report of the enterprise. Net revenue reached 4.8 trillion sums. At the end of the first quarter of 2022, the figure was 767.4 billion sums. The main factors of positive financial results were the growing world prices for uranium and the growth of supplies abroad.
