US Presidential Envoy to Visit Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan

The United States is stepping up engagement with Central Asia as US President’s Special Envoy Sergio Gor prepares to visit Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in early February.
Sergio Gor, the US President’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, will visit Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan from February 3 to 7, according to the US State Department.
In Bishkek, Gor will take part in the “B5+1” business forum, where he is scheduled to meet with business leaders and senior officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the United States.
He will also hold meetings with high-level government officials in Bishkek and Tashkent to explore opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation and developing new forms of economic partnership.
The State Department said the United States remains committed to strengthening economic ties with the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan, as well as fostering innovative partnerships that contribute to stability and prosperity across the region.
Gor last visited Uzbekistan in October 2025, when he held talks with the country’s president, the head of the presidential administration and other senior officials.
