According to Mirzamakhmudov, Uzbek firms have received an official license for geological exploration and hydrocarbon production in Afghanistan.

“The parties have already started work at the Tuti-Maidan field. The agreement spans 25 years, and depending on the results, expansion to additional sites is possible,” the minister said.

He added that strengthening stability in Afghanistan creates favorable conditions for long-term energy cooperation and gives Uzbekistan the shortest route to the World Ocean.

The project is considered a key step in enhancing energy collaboration between the two nations and promoting regional economic integration.
