Uzbek-Kyrgyz car plant to produce first car in May

The first car at the Uzbek-Kyrgyz car plant is planned to be produced at the end of May 2024. This is reported by Economist.kg.
It is noted that at the first stage the plant will produce passenger cars Chevrolet and Isuzu, with subsequent localisation of production.
This became possible thanks to the agreement on the construction of a joint car plant, signed between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on 29 January 2023.
Although the launch of the plant has been repeatedly postponed, the latest current indicative dates point to the second quarter of this year.
