President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the necessity of consistent economic development to meet the growing needs of the population.

“No matter how many benefits we pay to the underprivileged, if we do not find them work, they will keep coming back for social assistance. Therefore, poverty reduction and social protection will now be in one system, managed by the Social Protection Agency,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

In each of the 19 districts and cities, industrial zones specializing in specific industries will be created based on Chinese experience.

The head of state stressed the need to increase the number of projects that can significantly boost Fergana's industry.

In particular, projects worth $2 billion will be implemented in the energy, oil and gas, and chemical sectors. Through investments of $700 million, the production of 230 types of new building materials will be established.

In the Fergana district, high-yield raspberry varieties from Italy and Poland will be cultivated on 200 hectares industrially. High-yield almond, peach, cherry, and plum orchards will be established in Kushtepa and Yazyavan. Cold storage facilities will be organized on the lands of large fruit growers.

Fergana also has great tourist potential. Issues related to organizing helicopter flights to the villages of Shakhimardan and Yordon, granting international status to the Vuadil and Okkiya posts, were discussed. Responsible parties were instructed to develop a master plan for these villages and the Vuadil settlement. The Fergana district is to be turned into a tourist recreation zone.

The head of state held an open dialogue with public representatives.
