Uzbekistan and ADB agree on implementation of 23 new projects worth $3.6 billion

From May 6 to 7, the Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev took part in the 58th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors in Milan. During the event, Uzbekistan was officially announced as the new chair of the Board for 2025–2026.
Jamshid Khodjaev was confirmed as Chair of the ADB Board of Governors. The next annual meeting of the Board will be held in Samarkand in May 2026 — the second time in Uzbekistan's history.
Uzbekistan and the ADB signed an agreement on the implementation of 23 new projects totaling $3.6 billion for 2025–2026. The projects will cover key areas of socio-economic development, including education, water supply, transport, and financial-technical support.
Over the past five years, ADB has provided over $5.41 billion to the Uzbek government to support the country’s transition to a green economy, strengthen private sector competitiveness, and stimulate investment in human capital.
