Presidents of Uzbekistan and France to meet in Samarkand today

At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, French President Emmanuel Macron will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on 1─2 November. This was reported by the press service of the President.
According to him, high-level talks will be held in Samarkand. They will consider issues of further development of Uzbek-French multifaceted relations.
"The focus will be on expanding practical interaction in trade and economic, innovation, investment and cultural and humanitarian spheres," the statement said.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and France will also take part in a joint business forum with the participation of leading companies and banking and financial institutions of the two countries.
Following the summit it is planned to adopt a number of intergovernmental and interagency agreements, as well as a package of trade and investment agreements.
