Uzbekistan and the EU Discuss New Areas of Cooperation

Brussels hosted the Global Gateway Forum, a key platform bringing together leaders and policymakers to discuss new formats of cooperation between the European Union and its global partners. Saida Mirziyoyeva took part in the event, emphasizing the importance of building sustainable ties between Uzbekistan and the EU.
During the forum, she held a meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The sides discussed prospects for strengthening political and economic cooperation, as well as joint initiatives in sustainable development, education, and digitalization.
Mirziyoyeva underlined that the partnership between Uzbekistan and the European Union continues to grow, opening up new opportunities for collaboration.
She also met with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas. The talks focused on global and regional issues, with special attention to developments in Central Asia.
In a separate meeting with EU Commissioner for International Partnerships Josef Sikela, the parties discussed ways to expand cooperation in political, economic, investment, and cultural spheres. They agreed on the importance of advancing concrete projects and initiatives promoting sustainability and innovation.
