Sport

Uzbekistan delivered one of its strongest performances at the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, securing 96 medals and finishing second overall — trailing only the dominant Turkish team. The Games took place from November 7 to 21 and brought together athletes from 57 countries.

96 Medals and Second Place: Uzbekistan’s Bright Finish
The national delegation claimed 29 gold medals across weightlifting, athletics and para-athletics, as well as various combat and aquatic sports. An additional 35 silver and 32 bronze medals solidified Uzbekistan’s confident second-place finish in the overall standings.

Turkey topped the medal table with 155 medals, including 72 gold. Iran followed in third place with 81 medals. Kazakhstan placed seventh, Kyrgyzstan fourteenth, and Tajikistan twenty-eighth, while Turkmenistan failed to secure any medals.

Despite the strong showing, the team did not surpass its 2021 record of 158 medals. The next Islamic Solidarity Games will be hosted by Malaysia in 2029.
