Uzbekistan will participate in the international exhibition Expo 2025, which will take place in Osaka, Japan, with a pavilion titled “Garden of Knowledge: A Laboratory for the Society of the Future.” This pavilion unites the country’s ancient craftsmanship traditions with a vision for a sustainable future.

The pavilion will showcase achievements in education, culture, innovation, and clean energy. Visitors will learn about Uzbekistan’s transition to a “green” economy, its use of renewable energy sources, wind power stations, and sustainable transport.

There will also be information about projects to restore the Aral Sea region and the “Homo Faber” initiative, which promotes collaboration between young creators and master artisans.

The pavilion’s architecture is inspired by ancient caravanserais. It is designed as a modern and open space, giving guests the chance to experience Uzbekistan’s culture and innovations from the very first step.

The main attraction is a 360-degree multimedia journey. This short but impactful experience immerses visitors in Uzbekistan’s development journey. The wooden columns on the roof are inspired by the architecture of the Juma Mosque in Khiva.

The interior design was created through collaboration between Uzbek and Japanese artists. Over 11,000 decorative bricks were handcrafted by ceramic master Abdulvohid Bukhariy Karimov. Designer Nada Debs and other artisans also contributed to the project.

The pavilion is scheduled to open on April 13 and will remain open to visitors for six months. Various cultural events, concerts, and sessions on art and sustainability will take place there. Uzbekistan’s National Day will be celebrated in September.

The pavilion was designed by the renowned architecture studio ATELIER BRÜCKNER, commissioned by the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan.
