Uzbekistan Cooperates with Chinese Vaccine Manufacturer
Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan continues its consistent efforts to modernize the pharmaceutical industry, introduce innovative technologies, and attract foreign investment. As the next important step in this direction, an online meeting was held between diplomats of Uzbekistan's Consulate General in China and representatives of one of China’s leading biotech companies — "Yunnan Watson Biotechnology Co., Ltd" (branded as "Walvax").
"Walvax" is one of China’s major vaccine manufacturing enterprises. Founded in 2001, the company specializes in the production of innovative vaccines. Its total assets amount to 2 billion USD, and its products are exported to 21 countries worldwide.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, the attraction of foreign investments, and the introduction of advanced technologies into Uzbekistan.
The Chinese side expressed deep interest in this area and announced that a delegation from "Walvax" will visit Uzbekistan from April 21 to 24, 2025. The delegation plans to hold meetings in Tashkent with the Ministry of Health, the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, research institutes affiliated with the agency, and the “Tashkent Pharma Park” innovation cluster.
The outcomes of the meeting are expected to open new opportunities for strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China in the pharmaceutical sector and contribute to the future development of local production of modern vaccines and medicines.
