Uzbekistan has announced the launch of EcoLand, a new environmental project focused on restoring and preserving the country’s natural ecosystems, the National Committee on Ecology reported.

The project will be implemented in partnership with UNDP and the IUCN, while the Global Environment Facility (GEF) will provide $6.1 million in funding.

EcoLand will cover six regions and ten districts of Uzbekistan, selected for their particularly valuable and diverse natural landscapes. The initiative aims to improve ecosystem health, strengthen the resilience of natural territories and support biodiversity conservation measures.
