In his opening remarks, the President highlighted that in recent years, Uzbekistan has established effective cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union in 22 areas as an observer. In 2024, Uzbekistan’s trade volume with EAEU countries increased by 11%.

In October, a new three-year cooperation program was adopted with the Eurasian Economic Commission, encompassing nearly 40 measures in trade, industry, finance, agriculture, transportation, and other sectors.

Mirziyoyev emphasized the priority directions of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union. In particular, he called for the phased elimination of trade barriers in mutual trade.

In this context, it was proposed to develop the issue of non-application of tariff and non-tariff restrictions in trade between Uzbekistan and EAEU countries at the expert level.

The Uzbek leader also highlighted the importance of Uzbekistan’s participation in the agreement on the Unified Customs Transit System, signed at the event’s conclusion, and expressed support for the prompt introduction of electronic data exchange on goods and vehicles crossing customs borders.

To establish reliable financial sources for advancing joint projects, we plan to complete the necessary procedures and join the Eurasian Development Bank at the beginning of next year, - stated Mirziyoyev.

To further engage businesses and strengthen entrepreneurial ties, it was proposed to hold a meeting of the EAEU Business Council in Tashkent in April 2025.
