In July, Uzbekistan's car market saw an increase in sales, but annual figures continue to decline. The most significant drop was observed in the segment of foreign-made passenger cars, where sales fell by 46.5%. However, the electric vehicle market is showing promising growth.
Sales of passenger cars rose by 18.6% in July, reaching 92,000 units. Despite this, the market contracted by over 30% year-on-year. The largest growth in sales was recorded in the Namangan, Kashkadarya, and Andijan regions.
The primary market for passenger cars also grew by 17% in July, though annual sales dropped by 12%. Sales of new domestically produced cars increased by 17.5% in July, but there was a 6% decline in annual figures.
The market for foreign-made passenger cars grew by 9.6% in July, but this increase did not offset the 46.5% decline in annual sales.
In the electric vehicle market, positive trends are emerging. In July, 3,400 electric vehicles were sold, representing a 28% increase compared to the same period last year. The secondary market for electric vehicles tripled in sales year-on-year.
