Zakat, Fitr, and Fidya Amounts for Ramadan Announced
Uzbekistan
The Fatwa Center of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has announced the Zakat threshold, Fitr Sadaqah, and Fidya amounts for Ramadan 1446 AH / 2025 CE.
The Fatwa Center has set the Zakat calculation based on the value of approximately 85 grams of 585-carat gold, which amounts to 61,200,000 UZS.
"Accordingly, if a person possesses cash or trade goods worth at least 61,200,000 UZS (beyond essential needs), they must give one-fortieth (2.5%) of their total wealth as Zakat to those entitled to receive it," the religious authority stated.
Additionally, the Fitr Sadaqah amounts have been determined as follows:
2 kg of wheat flour — 10,000 UZS;
4 kg of barley — 16,000 UZS;
2 kg of raisins — 110,000 UZS;
4 kg of dates — 180,000 UZS.
Each person may choose one of these four items or their monetary equivalent as Fitr Sadaqah according to their financial capability.
The Fidya amount per day is the same as the Fitr Sadaqah amount.
Thus, a person can pay Fidya by giving one of these four items or their equivalent value in cash, the Fatwa Center noted.
