Zelensky Does Not Retreat from His Stance Against Putin

The Kremlin plans to "prolong diplomacy" to buy time and seize more Ukrainian territories, Zelensky said. According to him, Russia is preparing to launch attacks in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
On Thursday, March 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated, based on Ukrainian intelligence reports, that Russia is preparing for new offensives. Speaking at the "Coalition of the Willing" summit in Paris, Zelensky emphasized that Russia intends to continue the war and urged European leaders not to ease sanctions pressure.
According to the Ukrainian president, Moscow wants to drag the United States into "endless discussions" to buy time and subsequently seize new Ukrainian territories.
"Lifting sanctions against Russia now would be a disaster for diplomacy," Zelensky said. He noted that sanctions are one of the few tools the world has to push Russia into serious negotiations.
Earlier, Russia demanded the partial lifting of Western sanctions following agreements with the United States on a ceasefire in Ukraine.
"Putin wants to negotiate over territories from a position of strength. He only thinks about war," Zelensky noted. He called on summit participants to continue military support for Ukraine, increase investment in the country’s defense industry, and expand joint projects in this sector.
The Ukrainian president also urged allies to develop a unified plan for deploying peacekeeping forces in the country.
It should be noted that at the summit held at the Élysée Palace in Paris at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron, leaders of 31 countries, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen were present. During more than three hours of consultations, discussions focused on providing security guarantees to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire between Kyiv and Moscow.
