Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared his readiness to take part in the planned meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Budapest. In an interview with NBC News, Zelensky said that a fair and lasting peace can only be achieved with the participation of both sides of the conflict.

Zelensky stated that he had already expressed this position during his recent meeting with Trump at the White House.
“I am ready. I told President Trump in the White House — a just peace can only be achieved if all parties are involved,” Zelensky said.

He firmly rejected the idea of ending the war by ceding any Ukrainian territory to Russia.
“If we want to stop the war diplomatically, we must stand our ground. Putin will get nothing extra,” he added.

Zelensky emphasized that neither side has won the war.
“Ukraine has not lost, but Russia hasn’t won either. Putin is trying to compensate for his failures on the front line with missile strikes and by creating an energy crisis,” he noted.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Washington expects Zelensky to take part in the upcoming Budapest Summit. However, Trump, after meeting Zelensky on October 17, said that “he won’t go to Budapest, but we’ll stay in close contact.”

Earlier, Trump posted on his social platform, calling on both armies “to stop where they are, declare victory, and end the pointless deaths and massive costs.”
