In the Andijan region, the banks of the South Fergana Canal burst. More than a hundred houses were affected by the flood. Emergency services are fighting the consequences.
On May 8, an emergency occurred in the Sarvontepa neighborhood of Buloqboshi district, Andijan region - one of the banks of the South Fergana Canal was damaged. The water burst from the channel and flooded the streets and houses.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, water entered about 100 houses, of which 30 were inside premises, and the rest were on household plots.
Immediately after receiving the signal, the supply of water through the canal was stopped by the forces of the "Naryn-Karadarya" Irrigation Department.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other services are working at the scene. With the help of special equipment, water pumping and shore reinforcement are carried out. It is reported that the situation is under control, additional information will be provided later.
