A national system of early warning of strong earthquakes will be established in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan
The national early warning system for strong earthquakes will be launched in stages from December 1, 2023. Through the mobile application "notification of a strong earthquake" within a few seconds, residents will be quickly notified of a strong earthquake in the identified regions of the Republic. The corresponding decision was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Resolution of the President "On additional measures to further improve the system of ensuring seismic safety of the population and the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan" (No-158 of 16.05.2023) from December 1, 2023, the National Early Warning System for Strong Earthquakes will be gradually launched in the Republic:
Within the framework of this national system, seismic phenomena in Uzbekistan and adjacent territories will be monitored in real time. When strong fluctuations are detected (with a value of 5 points or higher) at two or more seismic stations near the earthquake focus, an operational alert of a strong earthquake in the identified regions of the Republic is transmitted to the population in a short seconds through the mobile application "sent earthquake alert".
