A special responsibility is established for domestic violence against a child

The next meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held. In connection with the strengthening of protection measures against family (domestic) violence, the draft law providing for amendments and additions to some legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan was conceptually considered in the first reading.

With the draft law, Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on family (domestic) violence is supplemented with responsibility for committing family (domestic) violence against a child.

Although the current norm provides for criminal responsibility for committing family (domestic) violence against a spouse or other person living together in a family, it does not provide for responsibility for committing these actions against a child.

Also, Article 583 of the Code of Criminal Procedure provides that an application for conciliation in cases related to family (domestic) violence may be submitted at any stage of the trial, but before the court enters a separate room (consulting room) with the second part. is being filled. The Code of Administrative Responsibility also provides for determining responsibility for committing family (domestic) violence against a child.

The draft law was adopted by deputies in the third reading.
