A unique "green" park being developed in Tashkent
Uzbekistan
A public park is being created in Uzbekistan’s capital as part of the “Yashil bog‘lar” initiative. Spanning 7.5 hectares, this new green space will serve as a tranquil and comfortable retreat for residents and visitors.
According to Minister of Ecology Aziz Abdukhakimov, the park is being built with a strong focus on sustainability: there will be no amusement rides or food outlets, and all paths and benches will be made from natural materials. Special attention is given to landscaping — 300 trees have already been planted, with plans to grow over 1,200 trees and 23,000 shrubs, including 100 varieties of roses.
The park will also feature a natural lake, bird nests, and an irrigation system powered by solar energy. Entry will be free, and the official opening is scheduled for spring 2025.
