Abu Dhabi researchers developed AI to mimic handwriting
Technology
Specialists from the Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in the UAE have created a profile neural network and successfully tested its functionality, Bloomberg reports.
The development was even patented in the United States. At the moment, the team of specialists is concerned about the possible abuse of the neural network by unscrupulous users and does not yet envisage its use by third-party clients.
The developers believe it is necessary to implement defence mechanisms to prevent incorrect and ethically unacceptable use of the technology. They compare this approach to creating an antivirus for a virus. Despite these considerations, the creators of the neural network are planning its commercial use in the coming months and are looking for partners to realise the potential of the technology. One possible application of the system is handwriting recognition, for example for processing medical records.
Currently, the neural network is able to handle handwriting in English and French, but the developers plan to add support for Arabic in the future.
