The 8th meeting of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Executive Committee took place in Vancouver, Canada, marking a significant milestone in planning the long-term development of the sport in the region. Ravshan Irmatov, the First Vice-President of the Uzbekistan Football Association, served as a key participant representing Central Asia. Under the chairmanship of Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the confederation's leadership focused on economic independence and the expansion of strategic partnerships.

Special attention during the discussions was given to the 2029–2036 cycle. The AFC recorded significant progress in the management of commercial and investment rights, which is intended to ensure the financial stability of national associations in the coming years. Participants highly praised the transparency of processes overseen by the Audit and Compliance Committee and the Tender Management team, noting that effective management has become the confederation’s top priority.

Beyond economic initiatives, the meeting confirmed the unity of the Asian football community in global politics: the Executive Committee unanimously supported the re-election of Gianni Infantino as FIFA President. This endorsement highlights the close cooperation between the continental and world governing bodies. For Uzbekistan, Ravshan Irmatov’s participation in such forums confirms the country’s growing influence in making strategic decisions aimed at elevating the sporting and commercial status of football across Asia.
