$390 Million Solar Investment: New Energy Complex Starts Operations in Nurota District

A new energy complex comprising a 300 MW solar photovoltaic power plant and a 150 MW energy storage system has been commissioned in Nurota District of the Navoi Region. The project is valued at $390 million.
The project was implemented in cooperation with China’s China Energy Overseas Investment. It has created 30 permanent jobs.
The facility is expected to generate 657 million kWh of green electricity annually. According to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy, this volume is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 273,000 households.
The project is expected to save 175 million cubic meters of natural gas annually and prevent the release of 377,000 tonnes of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
The commissioning of the facility expands Uzbekistan’s renewable power generation capacity while incorporating a 150 MW energy storage system into the project.
