Starting from 2025, the high-speed "Afrosiyob" train will begin stopping in the city of Kattaqo'rg'on, located in the Samarkand region. Additionally, it is planned to launch an electric train service on the Bulung'ur-Samarkand City-Juma-Kattaqo'rg'on route.
A new station for the "Afrosiyob" will be established in Kattaqo'rg'on, as reported by the press service of the Samarkand city administration.
According to the decision approved by the president regarding the "Measures to further develop the investment and business climate in the Samarkand region and improve the living standards of the population," the establishment of this station is part of the additional measures program for the socio-economic development of districts (cities) in Samarkand region.
The Ministry of Transport and the joint-stock company "Uzbekistan Railways" have been tasked with ensuring that the "Afrosiyob" train, traveling on the Tashkent-Bukhara route, stops at the Kattaqo'rg'on station in 2025, and also with establishing the Samarkand-Kattaqo'rg'on electric train routes.
