Allied relations agreement ratified with Kazakhstan

The agreement provides for close cooperation in a number of areas, such as foreign policy, defence and security, migration, development of industrial cooperation, and rational use of transboundary water resources.
The law signed by the President ratified the treaty on allied relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. This was reported in the Ministry of Justice.
The main goal of the agreement is to strengthen a new stage of interstate relations aimed at further consolidation of independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and stable economic development of the two countries.
The agreement envisages close cooperation in foreign policy, defence and security, migration, development of industrial cooperation, taking joint measures on rational use of transboundary water resources, strengthening ties between parliaments, political parties and public organisations.
The annex to the agreement contains a provision on the Supreme Interstate Council of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, headed by the heads of state.
