Ukraine has imposed ten-year sanctions on three companies and one citizen of Uzbekistan, accusing them of supplying dual-use products that could be used for the interests of Russia's military-industrial complex.

Kyiv imposed sanctions on Uzbek manufacturers
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree imposing new sanctions against several foreign legal entities. Among those subject to restrictions are three companies registered in Uzbekistan and one citizen of the republic.

We are talking about the companies Mercury Renaissance, Raw Materials Cellulose, and the Fergana Chemical Plant. According to the Ukrainian side, they may be involved in the supply of dual-use products to Russia, including in the interests of its defense industry.

Sanctions are being introduced for 10 years. They provide for the complete blocking of assets on the territory of Ukraine, the prohibition of any trade and financial operations with Ukrainian counterparties, and exclusion from the Ukrainian market.

Who was sanctioned:
Mercury Renaissance is a company registered in Tashkent in 2016. He is engaged in the lease of construction equipment. Its co-founders are Rustam Muminov and Shahriyor Tadjiev.
The Fergana Chemical Plant, a subsidiary of Mercury Renaissance, produces chemical products, including components that can be used in the production of gunpowder and explosives.
Raw Materials Cellulose is a Jizzakh company specializing in cellulose and wood products.

One of the founders - Rustam Muminov - also fell under personal sanctions. What specific restrictions are imposed on him is not specified in the decree.

As observers note, the actual damage from Ukrainian sanctions may be limited if these companies do not have active business ties with Ukraine. However, Kyiv has already instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to notify the EU, the US, and other countries of the situation with a call to introduce similar restrictions.

There were no official comments from the companies themselves or Uzbek authorities at the time of publication.
