At the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that expanding cooperation with the EAEU remains one of the key foreign economic priorities for the country.
According to him, during the four years of observer status, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with EAEU member states increased by 80%, reaching $18 billion in 2024. The number of joint ventures has tripled.
“We fully feel the consequences of sanction policies, disruption of logistics chains, and declining foreign investment activity,” the President noted. He stressed the importance of deepening industrial cooperation and removing technical barriers.
In March, a three-year plan comprising 40 measures was adopted, with intensified work in areas such as the “Eurasian Agroexpress,” digitalization of freight transport, and e-commerce.
Uzbekistan has completed all procedures to join the Eurasian Development Bank and is already forming a portfolio of joint projects in strategic industries. Mirziyoyev also proposed connecting Uzbekistan to the digital technical regulation system, the ecosystem of transport corridors, and the “Work Without Borders” platform.
Among new initiatives are the Agricultural Cooperation Program with the EAEU, the introduction of artificial intelligence in various sectors, and the creation of next-generation logistics platforms.
“We fully comply with all agreements on the free trade zone. I am confident that Uzbekistan’s participation in Union projects will contribute to the region’s sustainable development,” concluded Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
