As the world rapidly shifts toward electrification and renewable energy, the United States risks losing ground in the global energy transition.

America falls behind as China and India lead the green energy race
President Donald Trump has rolled back elements of the green economic agenda initiated by his predecessor Joe Biden. The US withdrew from climate agreements, prioritized expanding oil and gas production, and slowed plans to phase out coal and internal combustion engines.

Meanwhile, China and India are accelerating investments in renewable energy. Limited domestic oil and gas reserves are pushing both countries to expand solar and wind power, positioning them as leaders in electrification.

According to the International Energy Agency, the world has entered the “electric age,” with electricity demand expected to grow at least 2.5 times faster than overall energy demand in the coming years.

Analysts warn that if the US continues prioritizing fossil fuels, catching up with Asian competitors in the emerging energy order may become increasingly difficult.
