An Assassination Attempt Was Made on Bashar al-Assad
Reports say that 59-year-old Assad requested medical help, then almost immediately began to "cough violently and choke."

Reliable sources state: "There are every reason to believe that this was an assassination attempt." It is reported that Assad received treatment in his apartment, and his condition supposedly stabilized on Monday.

Unofficial reports indicate that poison was found in Assad's blood tests.

Last month, it was revealed that Assad's wife, Asma, had been banned from returning to the UK. The 49-year-old, who was born in London, cannot return home as her passport has expired.

They had fled Syria due to its collapse and the overthrow of Assad's two-decade rule, seeking refuge in Russia.

Since Assad's downfall, there have been reports that Asma is planning to divorce her husband and return to the UK.

Many speculate that the assassination attempt on Assad could just be the beginning.
