An informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States has begun in the city of Turkestan with the participation of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
At the Congress Center, the head of state was warmly welcomed by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
A joint photo session was held with the heads of delegations.
Before the meeting, the heads of state participated in a ceremony to lay a time capsule in the foundation of the Center for Turkic Civilization.
The complex, being built at the initiative of Kazakhstan, aims to showcase the shared historical roots, rich cultural heritage, and civilizational unity of the Turkic peoples. The project aims to expand scientific, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the countries of the Turkic world, strengthen spiritual affinity, and promote shared values and traditions.
Then, the leaders were treated to a presentation of Kazakhstan's digital solutions, as well as joint initiatives of the Organization of Turkic States member states in the fields of IT and artificial intelligence.
