New Migration Agency Established: Enhancing State and Private Sector Cooperation
Uzbekistan
The Agency for External Labor Migration has been replaced by a new Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers. This agency will oversee implementing state policies in the field of labor migration, coordinating government activities, and providing essential public services in this domain.
From January 1, 2025, the Agency will have the authority to monitor private employment agencies, a move aimed at increasing the legality and safety of the labor migration process.
Starting December 1, 2024, the financial reserve required for private employment agencies to obtain a license will be reduced from 8,500 to 4,000 times the minimum wage.
Furthermore, by January 1, 2026, the agency will gradually transfer its responsibilities for selecting, dispatching, and employing citizens abroad to private employment agencies, fostering more opportunities in labor migration.
