According to officials, the man, believed to be in his early 20s, was spotted near the north gate carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel canister. When ordered to drop the items, he reportedly raised the weapon into a firing position, prompting agents to open fire. Authorities have not confirmed whether the firearm was loaded.

The deceased was later identified as 21-year-old Austin Martin of North Carolina. His motives remain unknown.
